Our goal is to preserve for generations to come these congregations\u2019 unique histories, important stories, and irreplaceable contributions to Catholic Religious and secular life and institutions throughout North America and beyond.\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicarchives.bc.edu\/\">Catholic Religious Archives at Boston College<\/a> works to collect, process, and make accessible records, photographs, artifacts, and ephemera from congregations of men and women Catholic Religious in the United States and Canada. Our goal is to preserve for generations to come these congregations\u2019 unique histories, important stories, and irreplaceable contributions to Catholic Religious and secular life and institutions throughout North America and beyond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Construction of the new facility for the archives on the Brighton Campus of Boston College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bc.edu\/content\/bc-web\/sites\/bc-news\/articles\/2025\/spring\/catholic-religious-archives-construction-to-begin.html\">began in January 2025<\/a>, while processing of deposited collections continues. It is anticipated the building, an exhibit space, and a reading room to welcome researchers will open in the summer of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Catholic Religious Archives is a presidential initiative administered through Boston College Libraries. It was designed to bring leaders of religious communities, archivists, and historians together to seek and identify solutions to the issues that communities, including those coming to completion, face in preserving and providing access to their archival legacies. The paper <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicarchives.bc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Working-Papers-FINAL-LETTER-FORMAT-December-17-2019.pdf\">\u201cPreserving the Past, Building for the Future\u201d<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/catholicarchives.bc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/PreservingThePast-BOOKLET-1.pdf\">booked version<\/a>) was produced following the conference. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLFUPK3hS97eY6y3hv2sfll3ZxKp3lrbv-\">Speaker videos<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicarchives.bc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Envisioning-the-Future-of-Catholic-Religious-Archives-Website.pdf\">original conference text<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicarchives.bc.edu\/category\/2018-conference\/\">blog posts<\/a> are still available.
