On-Campus Libraries<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Boston College Libraries<\/a>, with a full-time staff of more than 150 people, have nearly 3 million volumes and circulate more than 225,000 items per year. Together there are nine libraries at Boston College, with the main research library \u2013 the Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. Library<\/a> \u2013 located in the center of the Chestnut Hill campus, adjoining the O’Neill Plaza. The holdings of several of these libraries have particular strengths in the study of Catholicism, in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theology and Ministry Library<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TML supports research, teaching, and learning at the Boston College Clough School of Theology and Ministry and Saint John’s Seminary while also serving all members of the Boston College community. Its extensive holdings of Catholic materials (books, journals, and newspapers) serve as the bedrock of the Catholic Historical Research Anthology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John J. Burns Library<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Home to Boston College\u2019s special collections and located in the original Bapst Library building on Boston College’s Chestnut Hill campus, Burns specializes in documenting Catholic religious, social, academic, artistic, and political life in the United States and Ireland. Collection guides are available online<\/a>, and a selection of potential collections of interest appears below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
